Orlando has reported that two monorail trains crashed early Sunday morning in the Magic Kingdom section of Walt Disney World, which has killed one of the train's operators. The fatality came from one of the monorail’s operators who died at the scene of the crash, which happened around 2 a.m at the theme park. It is reported that the other train operator was not injured, but was taken to a hospital due to minor injuries.

It should be noted that up to five park guests were treated at the scene of this monorail's accident and were released as they were determined to be okay. It is unclear what caused the crash, Jones said. Sheriff's officials are investigating the cause.

This is another example of the potential of injury and unintended accidents from even the tamest of rides at a theme park, especially worrisome is that it was at Disney which is associated with being safe and a fun place to vacation. Theme parks are notorious for having an "acceptable" level of accidents a year as part of their operational costs. This is something to keep in mind before climbing onto your next roller coaster.
